The principal of Jesús Garza Advertising and Public Relations Jesús Garza - Media Professional The road to living and working in the Inland Empire has been a circuitous one. I was born in San José, California when the valley was prune and apricot orchards. After attending the San Francisco Art Institute, Evergreen Valley College and San José State University I received my degree in Journalism in 1978. Since graduating college I have worked in marketing, radio, television, print and the Internet. At Donald J. Sherman & Associates in San Francisco, California I was an account eexecutive and researcher. Eventually I opened my own company in San José where I created advertising and public relations campaigns for a diverse clientele. This experience has left an indelible mark and makes me a better communicator. My professional experience includes successfully directed marketing campaigns, coordinated activities and represented clients at media and community events in Washington D.C., Austin, Texas, San José, Sacramento and San Bernardino, California. I have delivered unique annual reports, monthly newsletters, brochures and launched several websites at the University of Texas School of Nursing, CEACO, Pedernales Electric, etc. Additionally, I have produced, directed and hosted radio and television programs at KLBJ, KSBW, KXRX, KEZR, KOMY, KZSU, etc. Jesús and His Family I have enjoyed living in San José, San Francisco, Arizona and Texas. Most of my family currently reside in the San Francisco Bay Area. My wife Ann Marie is a professor at the University of Redlands. She received her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Texas. Ann Marie and I have two wonderful daughters. Estrella is married to Jimmy Dodge and Esperanza to José Santa Cruz. Both of my son-in-laws are Santa Clara County Sheriffs. To date, I have four beautiful grandchildren. Community Service I believe service to our community is mandatory. I have volunteered at the Loma Linda VA Hospital and Riverside County United Way. My wife and I are both avid supporter of the arts and education. You can see both of us at various Inland Empire mixers and forums sponsored by organizations as varied as Women United, Redlands Human Relations Commission, the University of Redlands, Riverside Community College and Riverside Art Museum.
By the way, I have exhibited and lectured about my photographs at various galleries and museums across the country. My documentary photographs have been published in various academic books. For fun, I teach part-time at the University of California at Riverside (Extension). Want to know more about my photography? Click here to go to my photography website. For the record, I don't mind being called by my first initial "J". Some folks are more comfortable pronouncing Jay than Jesús (Hay-soos). I totally understand. Thanks for reading this short introduction and please feel free to contact me at any time. I look forward to helping you successfully complete your next project. |
